Assistant Manager/Overseer
An Assistant Manager/Overseer whose responsibilities will apply across multi-skilled operation is required to complement the management team for the integrated agricultural enterprise of grain, sheep for wool and genetic merino breeding. The position is in the Moora district. Moora is located NE of Perth and is a well equipped regional centre having the schools and services expected.
Accountability will be for managing the stud merino medium fine and superfine flocks, having average adult fiber diameters of 17.6 and 16.5, greasy fleece weights of 5.2 and 3.6kgs respectively.
The role includes:
- Husbandry management - Trait measurement and submission to Sheep Genetics Australia - Sheep classing and use of Sheep Genetic Australia breeding values - Genetic pedigreeing of progeny to both sire and dam - Database management, and working with purchasers of sires
Strong support for the flock manager, managing a total adult flock of 10,000 sheep is also an essential part of the role. You maybe required to assist with general farming duties and with the cropping program on occasions.
Essential skills:
- Sheep management experience - Seeding experience - Harvest experience - Background with sheep, wool and preferably stud sheep management. - Commitment to the enterprise - Truck (HR) - Computer literacy
Desirable skills:
- Mechanical knowledge - Secondary or tertiary education
A comfortable home is provided with close proximity to the school bus. The salary package for the position is $40,000 - $47,000 depending on the applicants qualifications and includes accommodation. A position has become available on a large property at Badgingarra in Western Australia. Badgingarra is located 200kms NE of Perth. The owners take pride in looking after their pastures and plant a lot of trees for wind breaks etc. The successful candidate must have a good understanding of working with cattle, have experience with fencing and be able to work in a team environment. The position is to commence ASAP and become a permanent position.
Essential skills - Licence (C) -Tractor experience - Fencing experience including use of wire strainers. - Cattle experience - Animal husbandry - Team player - Neat and tidy
Desirable skills - Non smoker

A full time position has become available on a 4500ha mixed farming property in the Great Southern of WA near Katanning 295kms SE of Perth. The position is to commence ASAP. The enterprise is 60% and 40% cropping.
The successful candidate would work predominately with the broad acre machinery though would be required to assist with the stock when necessary.

The successful applicant is to assist the Farm Manager and Stock Overseer with implementing the QA cropping and livestock production plans. The candidate must be motivated with the ability to work in a team environment or unsupervised, show personal pride in the quality of practice in all aspects of the farms operations.
Essential skills - Licence (C) - Assist the Manager and Overseer with the daily duties of implementing the farm livestock program. - Assist with duties to livestock contractors eg; shearing, crutching and mulesing. - Maintain activity records eg; numbers, moves, deaths etc. - Stock husbandry - Machinery experience - Non smoker
