Working in Australia

Traveling to work

Jobs through Rural Enterprises are in regional Australia. This means if you don't have your own vehicle you will need to book tickets on buses, trains or planes to get to the location where your employment will be.
Your Consultant will be able to assist you by explaining where your employer is located and how you should get there.
Ensure you have enough money to cover accommodation in Perth and travel to your new job when you arrive.

Some things you need to know if you have not worked in Australia before:

  • You will need a Tax file number
  • Apply for an Australian bank account
  • Book accommodation in Perth if your employer is not picking you up from the airport
  • Book travel to farm if employer has not arranged this for you
  • Have appropriate footwear for farm work
  • Purchase correct sim card for mobile phone that gets REGIONAL coverage (i.e TELSTRA 3G or similar)

Our office is happy to  ASSIST you with all of these but you are responsible for any costs.

Below are some links that may help you see the cost of traveling to some regional areas.
