Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced and mechanically capable Leading Hand/Senior Machinery Operator to join their high-performing cropping business, in the Southern Goldfields-Esperance region, 5.5 hours from Perth. Operating over 10,000 hectares and running an impressive fleet of modern machinery, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership, leading teams, and keeping operations running smoothly.
You’ll work alongside the Owner and the 2IC, stepping into a key leadership and operational role – especially across spraying and harvest. The business has invested heavily in efficiency and is moving toward a more experienced, stable team. If you enjoy responsibility, modern ag tech, and mentoring younger operators, this is the position for you.

About the Role:
- Lead paddock operations harvest.
- Operate and optimise Case SP sprayers;
- Manage harvest crews, coordinate workflow, ensure smooth paddock operations;
- Operate Case AF harvesters, chaser bins, seeders, and support machinery;
- Assist with seeding logistics, planning and daily task allocation;
- Maintain and repair machinery as required;
- Contribute to decision-making meetings with the senior team;
- Use mapping and precision ag tools; help drive tech adoption;
- Located in the Southern Goldfields-Esperance region, 5.5 hours from Perth.
About You:
- Broadacre cropping experience (minimum 5+ years; 10+ preferred);
- Mechanically competent – comfortable diagnosing issues and carrying out repairs;
- Strong leadership presence; able to direct seasonal teams positively;
- Calm, organised and reliable under pressure;
- Strong communicator who can work collaboratively with Owner and 2IC;
- Spraying experience essential or strong capability to upskill quickly;
- HR/MC licence advantageous;
- Passion for machinery optimisation and precision ag highly valued.
