Full Job Description:
A family-owned broadacre cropping operation in WA’s Great Southern is seeking a General Farmhand to join their team. This role would suit an experienced General Farmhand looking for a stable long-term position, or a younger operator wanting to take the next step in their broadacre career while being mentored by a supportive farming family. The business operates approximately 3,000ha of wheat, barley and canola along with a small flock of sheep and is looking for someone to work directly alongside the owners. The focus of the role is machinery operation rather than livestock work. The successful candidate will primarily be involved in seeding, harvest, spreading, machinery maintenance and general farm operations. There is no expectation to undertake spraying. Our client is looking for a genuine long-term employee who enjoys being part of a family farming operation and values good communication and teamwork.

About The Role:

• Operate a 12m seeding bar;
• Operate chaser bins during harvest;
• Operate fertiliser spreaders;
• Machinery servicing and maintenance;
• General broadacre farm duties;
• Grain bagging and harvest support;
• Work directly with owner/operators;
• Long-term permanent opportunity.

About You:

• Broadacre farming experience preferred;
• Takes pride in looking after machinery;
• Communicates well within a team;
• Calm and practical approach;
• Willing to learn and follow established systems;
• HR licence highly regarded;
• Not afraid of seasonal hours during seeding and harvest;
• Looking for a long-term position rather than a stepping stone.
