Job Description:

An opportunity is available for an experienced Farmhand to join a progressive broadacre cropping operation in the WA Wheatbelt. Working as part of a small team, you’ll be involved across all aspects of the farming program including seeding, harvest, spraying, hay production and general farm maintenance. The business operates approximately 3,500 hectares of cropping and utilises a modern machinery fleet. This position would suit someone looking for a long-term role where they can become an important member of the team and take ownership of their day-to-day responsibilities.

About the Role:

  • You’ll be involved across all aspects of the farming operation, including:
  • Harvest operations;
  • Seeding operations;
  • Boom spraying;
  • Fertiliser spreading;
  • Hay production;
  • Machinery maintenance;
  • Vehicle maintenance;
  • Fencing;
  • Rock picking;
  • General farm maintenance;
  • The role is hands-on and varied working across the full farming calendar rather than undertaking a single task year-round;
  • You’ll be working alongside the owners and seasonal staff, with the expectation that you can work independently and communicate effectively.

  
About You:

  • This role will suit someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys operating machinery and can fit comfortably into a small team environment;
  • Previous broadacre cropping experience;
  • Harvest and seeding experience;
  • Spraying experience highly regarded;
  • Basic mechanical aptitude;
  • Able to work independently;
  • Good attitude and communication skills;
  • Strong work ethic;
  • Safety conscious;
  • C Class licence required;
  • HR licence advantageous;
  • Non-smoker preferred.
