Livestock Overseer/General Farm Hand, Peel Region WA (REF: 573161)

A family-owned beef cattle enterprise is seeking a Livestock Overseer to join their team.  This is a hands-on role where you will ensure the day-to-day operations are completed in a professional and timely manner.  Activities include all aspects of beef cattle husbandry, pasture / hay crop planning and seeding, machinery maintenance and repairs, spraying, fertilizer spreading, fencing, pest & weed control.

• Non-smoker preferred;
• Immediate start.

 
About The Role:

• All aspects of beef cattle husbandry including making, weaning, feeding, drafting, assessing and maintaining water;
• Fertilizer spreading and seeding;
• Pasture/hay crop planning
• Operating up to 150HP FWA tractors;
• Seeding and spraying duties;
• Other machinery operation will include FEL, excavator, grader, and various other machinery;
• Truck Driving;
• Other tasks such as fencing, workshop duties, general maintenance.

About You:

• Demonstrated experience in beef cattle breeding and management (3-5 years);
• Pasture production experience;
• Tractor and associated machinery operation and maintenance, including servicing;
• Ideally hold HR licence, AgSafe or ChemCert accreditation (or a willingness to obtain these);
• Be a self-starter, organised, self-motivated, safety conscious and reliable.

 
What’s On Offer:

• Salary: $75,000-$80,000 depending on the skills and experience you can bring to the team;
• 45 hours per week;
• Brick & iron house, suitable for a family.
