Senior Farm Hand /Mechanic, Albany Region WA (REF: 609843)

A Senior Farmhand / Mechanic is required on a mixed Farming property, located in the Narrikup & Cranbrook, WA. It is in a diverse family business with properties across the lower Great Southern and Albany regions. General duties including operating and maintaining machinery for both cropping and livestock, workshop duties, vehicle and machinery services and minor repairs, truck driving, day-to-day fencing repairs and livestock handling. Accommodation is on offer along with an attractive salary, utilities and a work vehicle. Great location with a close proximity to Albany and Mt Barker.

• 4,000Ha mixed cropping property (feed, barley) 15,000 sheep & 800 cattle;
• Located in Narrikup, WA – 14kms from Mount Barker and 35kms from Albany;
• Nearest town facilities include: primary & secondary schools, grocery stores, post offices, wineries and sporting facilities;

About the Role:

• Start date: ASAP;
• Duties include:

• Machinery: Trucks, tractors, quadbikes, side by sides, utes etc;
• Size of team: 4 plus casuals;

About you:

• Must be experienced with operating broadacre machinery;
• Mechanically minded and experienced in agriculture however no trade needed;
• Ability to work in a team;
• Honest and reliable - knows when to report issues with gear etc;
• HC license desirable;

• Great hourly rate of $35+ on offer, depending on experience;
• Standard working hours available: Mon-Friday, more hours may be required over peak periods;
