Farm Manager, Hyden WA (REF: 612189)

Our client is seeking a motivated Farm Manager to join their team at their Hyden property in Western Australia. They are a rapidly growing farming enterprise with locations in Esperance, Varley, Hyden and Holleton, covering 26,000Ha of canola, wheat, barley, export Hay, trade lambs, and cattle. The successful candidate will ideally run the Hyden farm independently with minimal input from the owner, be able to follow an annual farm plan and be a progressive forward-thinking leader who is eager to improve the property and overall farm productivity.

About the Role:

• All-encompassing management position, overseeing cropping, spraying, seeding, harvest and all associated tasks;
• Predominantly trade lambs. Currently running approx. 8,000 trade lambs;
• Future goal is to expand trade lamb program;
• Leadership responsibilities and staff supervision of a small team;
• Admin support provided from the main office in Esperance;
• Truck driving at harvest;
• Machinery: CASE machinery – Steiger Quadtrac, Case Optum, Bredal Spreader, Miller Condor Sprayer, 80ft seeder bar and Morris air cart;
• Machinery operation and maintenance: Mechanical repairs and servicing;
• General farm duties as require.

About You:

• Strong passion for farming especially in cropping;
• 5+ years experience in cropping operations (Seeding, spraying, harvesting);
• 2+ years experience in broadacre machinery operation;
• Ability to lead & manage a small, close-knit team;
• ChemCert license or willing to obtain;
• MC truck license desirable;
• Must be a non-smoker/vaper.
