Job Description

Join a progressive, owner‑operated mixed cropping business in a true senior farmhand/assistant role. You’ll take charge of day‑to‑day operations—run modern machinery, set priorities, and keep things moving when the owners are off‑farm. This position will commence the beginning of January 2027. Our client is happy to wait for the right person

• House located in Dowerin and only a short drive to the farm;
• Dowerin has schools, day-care and strong sport/community scene;
• Owners invest in upgrades;
• No sponsorship available. 

About the role:

• Run seeding/harvest machinery and daily servicing;
• Operate boom spray;
• Own day‑to‑day logistics and coordination;
• Support/guide seasonal staff during peak periods;
• Keep owners informed; execute to plan (agronomy/programming set by owners);
• Basic mechanical troubleshooting; 
• Occasional truck driving at seeding and harvest (HR/HC)

About you:

• Broadacre experience (seeding & harvest) with strong machine skills;
• Boom spraying competence (or clear pathway to autonomy);
• Practical mechanical aptitude; safety‑first mindset;
• Communicative, low‑ego, reliable; works well solo and with owners;
• Licences: C essential (HR/HC/MC highly regarded).
