If you’re an experienced machinery operator who takes pride in doing the job properly and enjoys having some ownership over what you’re operating, this one is worth a look.
We’re recruiting a Senior Farm Hand / Machinery Operator for a large mixed farming operation in WA’s Great Southern.
Running a 6,800ha cropping program, this is a busy, modern operation with a strong machinery focus. The farm runs predominantly John Deere gear, including X9 harvesters, backed by John Deere Guidance.
Importantly, they’re not looking for someone who already does absolutely everything. If you’ve got proper broadacre experience, are very good in a couple of key areas and are keen to develop the rest, we’d like to hear from you. That’s why we’re more interested in finding the right experienced operator than someone who ticks every box on a list.

About the Role:

• Depending on your experience and strengths, you’ll take a senior operating role across areas such as:
  • Air seeder operation;
  • Self-propelled boom spraying;
  • Header and harvest operations;
  • Chaser bin operation;
  • Truck driving.
• During the busy periods, the permanent team provides the experience and continuity behind the machinery program;
• There’s flexibility around where you fit.

About You You’ll ideally have:

• Several seasons of broadacre farming experience;
• Strong machinery operating ability;
• Experience in spraying, seeding, harvest and/or truck driving;
• The ability to work confidently without constant supervision;
• Good machinery awareness and attention to what’s happening around you;
• A practical approach to machinery maintenance;
• HR licence preferred;
• MC licence highly regarded;
• Willingness to assist with sheep when required;
• Non-smoker.
